Reportage against FGM in ZDF

Tomorrow is the “International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation”.

Today the German TV station ZDF screened the reportage ‘Barbarische Tradition: Genitalverstümmelung ‘in their magazine “Volle Kanne”.

The first part contains an interview with Beryl Magoko and parts of her films “The Cut” and “In Search…”

Canadian Review – Regagner sa dignité

…Vous aurez deviné : cette fois, je n’ai absolument rien à critiquer. Si In Search ne cherche pas le raffinement esthétique, la caméra reste concentrée sur l’essentiel – les personnages et leurs réflexions – et n’introduit pas artificiellement de plans nature superflus chargés de symbolisme. La multitude de citations ci-dessus témoigne de la richesse du film. Je vous jure, tout au long du film, j’étais suspendue aux lèvres de ces femmes incroyables et j’aurais volontiers continué à les écouter…

… In Search… of films ? Plus besoin avec ce film!
Ce cadeau au féminisme inspirant et encourageant, cet éloge à la solidarité féminine, fêtera sa première canadienne le 28 septembre au Festival International du Film Black de Montréal. Absolument à ne pas manquer.
